The Fatal Boot
Over a hundred years ago, a cowboy shot a rattlesnake. It wasn't dead, so he stomped it to death. Within a few days, the man took ill and died mysteriously. When his son was grown, he proudly took his fathers favorite boots as his own, a few days later he turned grey and died. His wife had been pregnant at the time, and when her son was grown she gave him the boots, telling him "You're father and your grandfather died in these boots, take good care of them." A few days later he died. Finally someone noticed that in the heel of the boot was the rattlesnake's fang, and it had enough venom left for several more generations.
The Titanic
The construction of the ship was at such a fast pace that at least one worker was accidentally walled up in hull and left to die.
Catholic workers in Belfast almost stopped construction on the ship because the hull number 3909 04 seemed to spell out "NO POPE" when viewed in a mirror.
The Titanic was the first ship to use SOS as a distress call.
The Rattle
A man purchased a brand new luxury sedan, loaded with extras and very expensive. The car was perfect except for a persistent, annoying rattle. He took the car back to the dealer and had every part of it checked and tightened, but the rattle continued. Finally he had the car completely dismantled and inside one of the door panels they found the source of the rattle, it was several nuts and bolts tied to a string with a note attached. The note read: "I GUESS YOU FINALLY FOUND THE RATTLE."
The Unstealable Car
A man's biggest fear was that his new sportscar would be stolen and he went to great lengths to insure that didn't happen. Each night he backed the car carefully into the garage, chained the frame to the floor, set the alarm and locked the garage. One morning he entered the garage and was shocked to discover the car was exactly as he always left it, except it had been turned around! On the seat was a note, it read: "WHEN WE WANT IT, WE'LL COME GET IT."
Interstate Landing Strips
American interstate highways are designed so that every fifth mile is perfectly straight and flat so that if necessary they can be used as landing strips during wartime.
It's The Law
Driving a car while barefoot is illegal.
Sea captains can, by their own authority, perform marriages.
Who Threw the Ham?
A large woman was shoplifting at a grocery store when a ham fell out of her overcoat. She looked around indignantly and yelled, "Alright, who threw a ham at me?"
The Dishonest Note
A man returned from shopping to find his car had been badly dented, and the culprit was no where in sight. As he got closer he felt relieved when he saw a note had been placed under his windshield-wiper. Laughing at himself for doubting the honesty of the average person, he pulled the note loose and read it, it said :"THE PEOPLE WATCHING ME THINK I'M LEAVING MY NAME AND ADDRESS, BUT I'M NOT."

I'm the guy who turned the sports car around. And sea captains can only do that when in the waters and not under any paticular country.
