A Story

It was a long time ago that I heard this story so, if someone has heard it before and I don't get all the facts right, then feel free to correct me.

A Preacher came to a small church to speak one Sunday. And as he was speaking he saw three young boys in the front pew whispering and poking and pretty much not paying attention. So he started to tell a story.
One day Man took his son and his son's friend fishing. While they were out a big storm came up and capsized the boat. The Man managed somehow to climb aboard a piece of the boat. But his son and his friend were still out among the waves. He had a rope but would probably only have enough time to throw it to one of the boys and pull him aboard before the waves swept the other boy away. So he had to make a choice, his son? Or his son's friend?
Well he knew with all his heart that his son had accepted Jesus Christ to be his savor. But his sons friend on the other hand was living a life of sin at this time. So he yelled "I Love You Son!" And threw the rope to the friend. By the time he had dragged the friend aboard even though he searched he could not find his son. He never saw his son again.
After the preacher was done speaking and getting ready to leave those three boys walked up to him. And said "That was a nice story that you told but we know you only told that story to get our attention." The preacher said "Yes that is in part true. But this story was true, You see I was that boys friend."

Just as that father sacrificed his son to save the life of that boy. Did not God sacrifice so much more for us when he sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins.
