The Twelve Disciples Of Jesus Christ ( Part 1 )
On May 9 2005 I wrote a report on the twelve disciples for a school report. When I write my reports I always do it on something that I'm curious about. I thought the information I found was very interesting so I will share it with you. Here it is...
THE TWELVE DISCIPLES OF JESUS CHRIST
There is quite a bit written about Jesus Christ. Out of all the people in history, Jesus Christ probably has the most written on him. But what about the men that followed him. Who were they? What were they like/ Were they married? And did they have children? What happened to them after Jesus ascended into heaven? How did they die? These are a lot of questions. But in the paper I hope to answer them.
Andrew
Andrew was born in Capernaum. He was the oldest in a family of five children He had a brother (Simon Peter) and three sisters. To the best of my knowledge Andrew never married. Andrew was a fisherman by trade and was in business with his brother Simon Peter and James and John the sons of Zebedee. Andrew was a very caring person and led people to Jesus Christ. (John 1:39-42*)
Andrew was around Thirty-three years old when Jesus Christ called him to be his disciple. Andrew was casting nets with his brother Simon Peter when Jesus Christ called him to be "fishers of men". (Matt. 4:18-19, Mark 1:16-17) During Andrew's walk with Jesus Christ he never seemed to say much. Compared to Simon Peter his brother, he was a very quiet person. After Christ's ascension into heaven all the disciples (except Judas Iscariot) gathered into Jerusalem for the Pentecost. After the persecutions caused the disciples to scatter, Andrew preached to the Scythians, Sogdians and the Sacae in Sabastoplis. He also journeyed through Armenia, Asia Minor and Macedonia.
Andrew was crucified by Aegeas the governor of Edessenes in A.D. 80. Traditions says,** that because he felt that he was unworthy to die the same way as Jesus Christ his master, he asked that his cross be nailed like a X. To this day it is called St. Andrew cross. It was two full days before he finally died.

** Some of the traditions may very. So if you have heard differently it may be you have heard a different
version.

very interesting,that is so sad that it took two days for him to die.
oouuuuch that is ssoooooo painfull just reading it hurts
